Ok, I want to run a small contest here, but this will be a very silly one.
I have several funny "chart" graphics that each represent a popular English-language song from the past forty years or so. I am going to post one of these charts about once every two to four days until I run out. Each time that I post one, someone is going to become a winner for the round.
To become a winner, you must be the first person who respond to my posting on my Facebook fan page, , and you must include ALL of the following items to be eligible:
1. Tell me the exact name of the song that is referenced.
2. Tell me the Artist who sang the original song.
3. Tell me the year the song was released.
4. Most importantly, tell us a funny story. If your story relates to the song, that's the best, but if not, post a good story anyway. Don't worry if it takes you a few minutes to type up your story - if you come up with a great story and you have posted it within five minutes of the first winning entry for that round, I'll send you a prize anyway.
Prizes: Don't get too excited, because there is no cash here. However, I'll mail a Pair of DVD's full of promo music to each winner. The DVD's will include some of my mixes, some of my individual tracks, and some other individual promo tracks that I like.
Since the prizes have no tangible cash value (although you'll love the music), this offer is valid for anywhere in the world. I don't mind paying the postage, so don't be scared to enter if you're far away from Canada!
ALL of the DVD's that are sent to winners will be mailed on November 20th, so I can include a number of the best entries from the "Global Underground (Alone In New York)" Remix Contest.
Thanks, and good luck.
Edited October 24th: I was originally going to pick three winners for each round, but since most people thought that only the first responder would win a prize, I'll switch to that format. To make up for the lower number of prize-winners, I'll make up a lot of extra graphics for other songs, so there are some extra rounds. Don't worry, multiple-winners in the first four rounds won't be retroactively disqualified!
